How To Read Opponents
Gambling, and ultimately winning, is all about adapting to the game and having an efficient strategy. This usually means, despite the specific game you are playing, is how to read your opponent. This doesn’t mean finding a tell that lets you know they are bluffing, this isn’t movie poker lessons, this is real life. Here are some tips on how to read your opponent, and use it to your advantage in order to win.
- Watch them and study their way of playing. This is good for long term benefits, as if you are aware of their playing style, you can anticipate what to expect, and react accordingly for a preemptive strike. You can test your knowledge by not reacting, but guessing what they will do, and the outcome, and reaffirming your observations. If successful, you know it is worth acting on, and therefore betting money on.
- Be aware of the table as a whole. Not just individual players, but how they react to others and how the over all table plays. This may seem exhausting at first, as you want to focus on your hand, and any possible messages you might be sending as well. However, with practice, it becomes second nature.
