Winning At Poker
It’s something we all want to be able to do. Have the skills necessary to play the ultimate hand and take home that big pot. However, professional Poker players will be the first to tell you that it isn’t as glamorous as it looks. It is about losing a lot, and preparing yourself for plenty of loss, just to get that one win you’ve been waiting for.
But how can you win? Winning comes down to getting an edge on the other players, and using it at the precise moment that means you will win big. This involves clocking a lot of hours playing, a large percentage of those hours will be spent losing, and you have to be prepared for that. The truth is, the more hours you play, the more you can earn, which is what makes it a lot like a job. And jobs aren’t fun!
The best way to learn is to observe. This can mean playing, and this can mean just watching. Put on a tournament, with the best of the best, so you can learn by example. What is it that makes the one guy at the table better than all the rest? Find the tricks he uses as your own, try them out and see if they work for you in the same way.
